Coronavirus: European standards for medical supplies made freely available to facilitate increase of production
In the context of the Coronavirus crisis, the Commission is working with industry and Member States to maximize the availability of masks, gloves, gowns and other medical supplies. Efforts include increasing production by existing manufacturers, facilitating imports and activating alternative ways of producing equipment.
Following the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), BSI, as the UK’s National Standards Body has assessed how we can best support Government, UK businesses and ultimately the UK population.
As a result, a number of standards have been made accessible to help support manufactures produce medical equipment in short supply and to help UK organizations navigate the current period of instability.
